Shanghai gold opens down 2.5 pct after holiday

SINGAPORE, April 5 (Reuters) - The spot deferred gold contract on the Shanghai Gold Exchange opened down 2.5 percent to 330.51 yuan a gram ($1,631.6 an ounce) as the market returned from a three-day break, tracking weakness in international gold prices.

The popular silver contract lost 3.4 percent to 6,530 yuan a kilogram, or $32.26 an ounce. (Editing by Ed Davies)
