Brazil's military cabinet members push for general to become health minister -source

BRASILIA, May 15 (Reuters) - Military members of the Brazilian cabinet are pushing for deputy health minister Eduardo Pazuello, an army general on active duty, to become the new health minister, making permanent his interim role, a government source told Reuters on Friday.

Pazuello, who becomes acting minister with the Teich’s shock resignation on Friday, took responsibility for logistics of the ministry’s coronavirus response last month, when Teich replaced former Health Minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta. (Reporting by Lisandra Paraguassu Editing by Brad Haynes)
