Norway central bank eases banks' collateral requirements

OSLO, March 18 (Reuters) - Norway’s central bank is temporarily easing requirements that banks must meet when pledging securities as collateral for loans, Norges Bank said in a statement.

The Norwegian central bank last week said it would make extra loans available to banks to prevent a surge in money market rates amid the coronavirus outbreak. (Reporting by Terje Solsvik, editing by Gwladys Fouche)
