Portugal says exemption from UK air corridor "absurd"

LISBON, July 3 (Reuters) - Portugal’s foreign ministry said in a tweet on Friday it was “absurd” that Britain imposed quarantine on travellers coming from Portugal despite having 28 times more deaths from the coronavirus.

The reaction followed an announcement earlier on Friday that continental Portugal, which receives plenty of British tourists, was not included in the UK’s ‘air corridor’ of countries, meaning those flying from Portugal to the UK will need to self-quarantine for 14 days.
