Loop to outsource $400 mln contract - paper

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Indian mobile operator Loop Telecom has shortlisted IBM, Tech Mahindra and Wipro for a $400 million outsourcing contract, the Economic Times said on Monday, citing unnamed industry sources.

The unlisted company is looking to hand out a 10-year contract for system integration and maintenance of IT systems across 22 cellular circles in India, the newspaper said.

“Nothing has been finalised in terms of partners or the contract amount. An announcement on our IT contract will be made as and when it gets firmed up,” it quoted a Loop spokesperson as saying.

The paper said IBM and Tech Mahindra declined comment, while a Wipro official said the company was in talks with a few telcos and would not comment on specific engagements.

Loop could not be immediately reached for comment by Reuters.
