NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Nigerian sprinter Folashade Abugan has been stripped of two Commonwealth Games silver medals after testing positive for a banned stimulant, the Games Federation said on Friday.

Abugan won silver in the women’s 400 metres and was a member of the second-placed 4x400 metres relay team.

The silver medal for the women’s 400 metres will now go to Guyana’s Aliann Tabitha Pompey and the bronze will be awarded to Christine Amertil of the Bahamas, the Federation said in a statement.

England will be awarded the women’s 4x400 metres relay silver medal and Canada will take the bronze.

The federation said Abugan’s case had been referred to the International Association of Athletics Federations and the World Anti-Doping Agency.
