CHICAGO, Aug 29 (Reuters) - The Illinois Senate on Tuesday gave final legislative approval to a bill that creates a new education funding formula that the state needs to send $6.7 billion to its 852 school districts.

The 38-13 vote in the Senate followed House approval of the measure on Monday. The bill now heads to Governor Bruce Rauner who has hailed it as a bipartisan compromise. (Reporting by Karen Pierog; Editing by Matthew Lewis)
