India to allot 11 new mines to Coal India- statement

NEW DELHI, Jan 19 (Reuters) - India’s government will allot 11 new coal mines to Coal India (Ltd), adding 225 million tonnes to the state miner’s annual production capacity, a government statement said on Friday.

The mines, located in the eastern states of Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar, will help boost local production and reduce the country’s dependence on imported fuel.
