NEW DELHI, Sept 26 (Reuters) - Indian farmers are expected to harvest 141.59 million of tonnes of grains from the summer-sowing season of the 2018/19 crop year that began in July, up 0.6 percent from a year earlier, government data showed on Wednesday.
Production of summer-sown rice is estimated to grow 1.8 percent to 99.24 million tonnes, while pulses’ output could be lower at 9.22 million tonnes, from 9.34 million tonnes a year earlier.
The government will update its production estimates as it gathers more data and information on crop planting. (Reporting by Mayank Bhardwaj; Editing by Malini Menon)
