India's economic growth slows to 5.7 pct in June quarter

NEW DELHI, Aug 31 (Reuters) - India’s economy grew 5.7 percent in the three months through June from a year earlier, slowing from a provisional 6.1 percent in the previous quarter, government data showed on Thursday.

Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast annual growth of 6.6 percent in the quarter. (Reporting by Rajesh Kumar Singh; Editing by Malini Menon)
