India's July retail inflation eases to 3.15% y/y

NEW DELHI, Aug 13 (Reuters) - India’s retail inflation rate eased to 3.15% in July, as food prices edged up at a slower pace, the government said on Tuesday, remaining below the central bank’s 4% medium-term target for a twelfth consecutive month.

Annual retail inflation in July was slightly lower compared with 3.18% in the previous month, and in line with analysts’ forecasts.

Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast a retail inflation rate of 3.20% for July. (Reporting by Manoj Kumar, Editing by Sherry Jacob-Phillips)
