Congress leads in Andhra Pradesh-TV projection

NEW DELHI, May 13 (Reuters) - India’s ruling Congress party is seen bagging more votes in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, a CNN-IBN television projection said on Wednesday. The poll forecast 42 percent of votes for the Congress versus the 25 percent of votes won by its nearest rival in the state, the regional Telugu Desam Party.

India’s elections are notoriously hard to predict, and most exit polls in the last 2004 election were way off the mark. (Reporting by Matthias Williams)
