TAKE A LOOK-India's monsoon on schedule after cyclone Laila

India's monsoon rains, crucial for its trillion-dollar
economy, were halted by cyclone Laila last week. But weather
officials on Thursday said the annual June-September rains were
expected to hit the country's southern tip on schedule in the
next three to four days.
State-run India Meteorological Department has forecast that
the monsoon would reach the southwestern Kerala state by May
30, two days before normal.
Good rains will boost output of rice, corn, cotton and
soybean, softening the blow of last year's driest rains which
ravaged farms and hit growth.
