Indivior third-quarter revenue falls as opioid drug loses market share

Oct 31 (Reuters) - Indivior Plc reported a 19% fall in quarterly revenue on Thursday, as the embattled British drugmaker lost market share of its best-selling opioid addiction treatment Suboxone to cheaper rivals in the United States.

Revenue fell to $199 million in the three months ended Sept. 30, from $245 million a year earlier, with operating profit also falling 16% on constant currency basis.

Indivior, which faces a $3 billion fine in the United States for illegally marketing Suboxone, backed its revenue and profit forecasts from earlier this month. (Reporting by Indranil Sarkar and Pushkala Aripaka in Bengaluru Editing by Supriya Kurane)
