Italy central bank chief warns on rising borrowing costs

ROME, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco warned on Wednesday that if rising borrowing costs persist they will hurt families and firms, and called on the government to ensure fiscal stability.

In a keynote speech in Rome, Visco said Italy’s public debt is sustainable but policymakers must show clear determination to keep it that way.
