DEBT

Treasury announces sale of CTZ and BTPei bonds, with relative amounts to be auctioned on Nov. 26.

FIAT CHRYSLER

General Motors on Wednesday filed a racketeering lawsuit against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, alleging that its rival bribed United Auto Workers union officials over many years to corrupt the bargaining process and gain advantages, costing GM billions of dollars. GM also alleged that Fiat’s former CEO, the late Sergio Marchionne, was central in the scheme. [

(*) FCA said late on Wednesday that it would defend itself vigorously against the lawsuit.

(*) MEDIASET - The Italian broadcaster and its second biggest shareholder Vivendi are struggling to reach a deal to end a long-running legal battle as a court-imposed deadline nears, four sources close to the matter said.

Under a potential settlment, Mediaset has raised its offer to buy back the shares at above 3 euros each, said il Messaggero newspaper on Thursday adding that the French media company would still consider the price unsatisfactory.

Luxottica’s founder, Leonardo del Vecchio, raised his stake in the French-Italian eyewear manufacturer through his holding Delfin by 1% to reach 32.8% of the capital, Il Sole 24 newspaper said on Thursday.

After completing a 600 million euro cashcall designed to fund Project Italy, the state lender Cassa Depositi e Presiti holds a stake of 18.68%, while Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit hold 5.28% and 5.38% respectively, according a filing with financial markets authority Consob.

BANCA CARIGE

The bank said on Wednesday it had reached an agreement with trade unions that will allow it to reduce its workforce by 1,250 over the period to 2023.

DBRS Morningstar confirmed on Wednesday all its ratings on UBI Banca.

AS Roma is in preliminary talks with potential investors over a possible investment in the Italian soccer club, AS Roma SPV LLC said on Wednesday.

The Italian regional utility is determined to to win the energy group Sorgenia now controlled by the main Italian banks and has the full support of its shareholder, CEO Massimiliano Bianco told Il Sole 24 Ore newspapers on Thursday.

ALITALIA, ATLANTIA

Latest deadline set by Industry Ministry for state railways Ferrovie dello Stato and potential partners to present binding offer for Alitalia.

The rescue plan ran into fresh trouble on Wednesday when its main sponsor, railway group Ferrovie dello Stato, said conditions were not in place to set up an investor consortium to save the struggling Italian carrier.

Delta said it was still prepared to invest up to 100 million euros in Alitalia.
