POLITICS

Members of the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement overwhelmingly backed a proposed coalition with the centre-left Democratic Party on Tuesday, opening the way for a new government to take office in the coming days.

ECONOMY

FTSE Indexes quarterly revision announcement expected (will be effective as of Sept. 23).

SALINI IMPREGILO

The general contractor has called a shareholder meeting on Oct. 4 to vote on a 600-million-euro capital increase linked to the so-called ‘Progetto Italia’, which aims to create a national building and construction champion.

CNH INDUSTRIAL

Industrial vehicle maker CNH Industrial has decided to split in two and list its truck, bus and engine division in an effort to boost asset values and streamline its businesses.

Board meeting on H1 results.

MEDIASET

The Italian broadcaster plan to reorganise its businesses as part of a pan-European growth strategy is set to be approved by shareholders on Wednesday, despite opposition from the group’s second biggest investor, Vivendi.

The engineering company won orders worth an overall $90 million, mainly in the Russian Federation and Europe.

Should the bank’s shareholder meeting fail to approve a vital capital increase on September 20 due to opposition from its leading investor Malacalza, the ECB, the Bank of Italy and the lender’s commissioners could agree to call a new shareholder meeting and freeze Malacalza voting rights, Il Messaggero said.
