BOJ's Kuroda urges India to keep up economic reforms

TOKYO, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda on Monday called on India to keep up its economic reforms and efforts to solve bad-loan problems at its banking sector.

Building a stronger manufacturing sector and fixing income inequality are also among challenges India faces, Kuroda said, though he added he was “fairly optimistic” about the country’s economic prospects.

Kuroda was speaking at a panel in Tokyo on Japan-India relations. (Reporting by Leika Kihara Editing by Shri Navaratnam)
