John Menzies reports first-half loss

Aug 13 (Reuters) - Aviation servicing company John Menzies Plc on Tuesday reported a first-half loss compared to a profit last year, hit by weak cargo volumes and cuts in flight schedules because of the global grounding of Boeing’s 737 MAX jets.

The British company, which offers ground handling, fuelling and cargo handling services for airlines, said it posted a pretax loss of 4.4 million pounds ($5.31 million) in the six-month period, from a profit of 8.3 million pounds a year earlier.
