Kuwait's new emir, Sheikh Nawaf, to be sworn in Wednesday - parliament speaker

CAIRO, Sept 29 (Reuters) - Kuwait’s new emir will be sworn in on Wednesday at 11 a.m., parliament speaker Marzouq al-Ghanim said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah was named emir by the cabinet to succeed his brother Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah, who died on Tuesday. (Reporting by Nayera Abdallah; Editing by Kevin Liffey)
