South Africa's Lewis H1 revenue gains 6.1%

JOHANNESBURG, Nov 20 (Reuters) - South African retailer Lewis Group reported a 6.1% rise in half-year revenue on Wednesday.

The furniture and appliance provider, which caters to middle to low-income consumers, said headline earnings per share for the six months ended September were 215 cents, up 18.9% from 180.8 cents a year earlier.

Headline EPS is the main profit gauge in South Africa that strips out certain one-off items. (Reporting By Naledi Mashishi; Editing by Muralikumar Anantharaman)
