Iraq, Jordan say border crossing to reopen on Wednesday

BEIRUT, Aug 30 (Reuters) - The main border crossing between Jordan and Iraq is to reopen on Wednesday for the first time since 2015, a statement from both governments said.

The decision to reopen the Tureibil crossing was taken after “securing the road ... from attacks and criminal gangs,” the statement said. (Reporting by John Davison and Sarah Dadouch, Ahmed Rasheed in Baghdad; editing by John Stonestreet)
