Syrian government forces capture Palmyra citadel - Hezbollah-run media outlet

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syrian government forces and their allies captured the Palmyra citadel, on the outskirts of the historic city, from Islamic State fighters on Wednesday, a military media unit run by Hezbollah said.

The government side also took over a palace complex to the city’s southwest, the media unit said.
