Brazil judge orders Monsanto to deposit royalties related to GMO seed

SAO PAULO, July 4 (Reuters) - A Brazilian judge has ordered units of Monsanto Co to deposit royalties related to the Intacta RR2 pro genetically modified soy seed technology, according to a copy of the decision seen by Reuters.

The ruling relates to a patent dispute between Brazilian soy growers and the U.S. seeds company, now a unit of Bayer AG . The Monsanto royalty decision is effective immediately, a lawyer for the plaintiffs said. (Reporting by Ana Mano Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
