* $199.99 price tag comes with 2-year contract
NEW YORK, Sept 29 (Reuters) - T-Mobile USA said on Tuesday that it would start selling Motorola Inc’s MOT.N Cliq phone for $199.99 starting Oct. 19.
The U.S. mobile unit of Deutsche Telekom AG (DTEGn.DE) said its existing customers would get a chance to be the first to buy Motorola’s initial phone based on Google Inc’s (GOOG.O) Android system next month, before the device would be available widely in its stores on Nov. 2.
To take advantage of the $200 price tag, customers would have to commit to a two year contract with T-Mobile USA.
Motorola has reorganized its entire cellphone unit around the development of Android phones as it is betting that these devices will help it revive. Motorola has been losing ground to rivals for well over two years. (Reporting by Sinead Carew, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
