Sept 5 (Reuters) - Michael Leiter, a former director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) is joining Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, the law firm said on Tuesday.

Leiter will join its national security practice as a partner in Washington. He will focus on cross-border deals and specialize in the defense, intelligence and technology sectors.

Leiter was a director of the NCTC under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. He was most recently president of Leidos defense group, which works with the U.S. Defense Department.
