TOKYO, April 8 (Reuters) - Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group’s (8306.T) brokerage unit said on Wednesday records on 49,159 customers, including salary details, were leaked and sold to data list agents.
Mitsubishi UFJ Securities said it had reported a former employee to the police over the leak.
The former employee took personal data for 1.5 million customers to his home, Mitsubishi UFJ said in a statement, adding that most of the records had been retreived.
Data stolen included customers’ names, addresses, dates of birth, occupation and rough salary figures, the brokerage said. (Reporting by Junko Fujita)
