Three U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers killed in Niger - New York Times

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Three U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers were killed and two were wounded in an ambush in Niger on Wednesday while on a routine patrol with Nigerien troops they were training, the New York Times reported, citing U.S. military officials.

Earlier, a spokesman for U.S. Africa Command said a joint U.S.-Nigerien patrol had come under hostile fire in southwest Niger.
