Russia cbank: falling inflation expectations behind rate cut

MOSCOW, May 2 (Reuters) - Inflation expectations among Russian households fell somewhat in April, and their decline was one of the reasons for last month’s rate cut, the Russian central bank said on Tuesday.

The central bank also noted in a regular report that monetary policy remained moderately tight so that inflation expectations fall further. (Reporting by Alexander Winning and Elena Fabrichnaya; editing by Vladimir Soldatkin)
