Transneft sets cap of $15/bbl on contamination compensation

MOSCOW, July 24 (Reuters) - Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft said on Wednesday it had set an upper limit of $15 per barrel for paying compensation for contaminated oil and claimants will have to prove they have incurred damage from the contamination.

The company also said in a regulatory statement it has re-appointed Energy Minister Alexander Novak as its board chairman.
