BERLIN (Reuters) - Winger Leon Bailey has extended his contract with Bayer Leverkusen by one year to 2023, the Bundesliga club said on Sunday.
The talented 21-year-old former Jamaica youth international joined Leverkusen in January 2017 from Belgian side Genk and has played 44 matches in all competitions for the German side, scoring 12 goals.
Several top European clubs had reportedly been interested in signing the winger, who was one of the rising stars in last year’s Bundesliga.
Leverkusen are also competing in this season’s Europa League. The new domestic league season starts next week.
