Hurricane Harvey strengthens into category 2 storm - NHC

Aug 25 (Reuters) - Hurricane Harvey has strengthened into a category 2 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale as it takes aim at the Texas coast, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory on Friday.

The hurricane is now located about 220 miles (355 km) southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, packing maximum sustained winds of 100 miles per hour (160 km per hour), the NHC said. (Reporting by Arpan Varghese in Bengaluru; Editing by Christian Schmollinger)
