Turkey says seized designated targets in Syrian offensive

ISTANBUL, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Turkish forces carrying out a military offensive into northeast Syria have seized designated targets and their operation is continuing successfully as planned, the Turkish Defence Ministry said on Thursday.

It said on Twitter that the operation, targeting a Kurdish militia which Ankara designates a terrorist group, continued throughout the night by land and air. The offensive began on Wednesday after the United States removed some of its troops from the area. (Reporting by Daren Butler; Editing by Dominic Evans)
