Fires extinguished on four of eight tanks burning at Houston petrochemical site

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Fires were extinguished on four giant tanks late Tuesday at a Houston petrochemical storage facility run by Intercontinental Terminals Co, a county official said, reducing by half the number burning earlier in the day.

Firefighters continued to spray water and foam on four tanks with up to 80,000 barrels of fuel that remain burning, said Harris County chief executive Lina Hidalgo in a statement.
