BRUSSELS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday that if the British parliament rejects the Brexit deal, it will be for Britain to make new proposals.
“I cannot speculate on the British (parliament’s) vote. And in this case it is very clear that it will be up to Great Britain to make proposals. But it is our responsibility to be prepared for all options. That is what we have done,” Macron said.
Macron was speaking at a news conference held after European Union leaders formally agreed a Brexit deal at a Brussels summit on Sunday.
