BERLIN (Reuters) - The German government expects the economy to grow by 2.4 percent this year, Economy Minister Brigitte Zypries said on Wednesday, confirming she was raising the forecast from a previous prediction of 1.9 percent.

Consumption, rising real wages and falling unemployment are contributing to the upswing in Europe’s largest economy, Zypries said.
