Trump expects to request initial Harvey funding from Congress soon

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Friday he expects to soon make an initial funding request to the U.S. Congress to help Texas and Louisiana recover from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.

Trump made the comment as he thanked charitable organizations for coming to the aid of people affected by the storm. His initial request to Congress is expected to be nearly $6 billion.
