Fir Tree to push Ultra Petroleum to seek strategic options

(Reuters) - Investment firm Fir Tree Partners said on Monday it would immediately begin talks with Ultra Petroleum Corp’s (UPL.O) management to pursue strategic alternatives.

Fir Tree is the largest shareholder of the natural gas producer, with an 18.5 percent stake as of Sept. 1.
