FCC approves Amazon Kuiper satellite broadband plan

WASHINGTON, July 30 (Reuters) - The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday said it had approved Amazon.com Inc’s plan to build a network of over 3,200 satellites through “Project Kuiper” to provide high speed broadband internet service.

Amazon said last year the project will launch a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to people globally who lack basic access to broadband internet. (Reporting by David Shepardson)
