Speculative U.S. 10-year T-note net shorts rise in week -CFTC

March 23 (Reuters) - Speculators’ net bearish bets on U.S. 10-year Treasury note futures rose earlier this week before the Federal Reserve raised key short-term borrowing costs on Wednesday, according to Commodity Futures Trading Commission data released on Friday.

The amount of speculators’ bearish, or short, positions in 10-year Treasury futures exceeded bullish, or long, positions by 313,304 contracts on March 20. This compared with 271,369 contracts a week earlier, according to the CFTC’s latest Commitments of Traders data. (Reporting by Richard Leong Editing by James Dalgleish)
