AUSTIN, March 23 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve needs to be patient about assessing whether new tariffs will hit the U.S. economy and whether the U.S. central bank should respond, Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan said on Friday.
“I am concerned about it. It bears watching. But I think, for me, I am going to council patience. From a policy point of view from the Fed, let’s see how this unfolds,” Kaplan told reporters in Austin. “My guess is this has a few more innings to run to see how this ultimately unfolds.” (Reporting by Jon Herskovitz in Austin Writing by Jason Lange in Washington)
