U.S. Secretary of State acknowledges 'sharp differences' with Moscow

MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told his Russian counterpart on Wednesday that he wanted to use talks in Moscow to understand why Russia and Washington had sharp differences and find a way to bridge those differences.

Speaking in opening remarks at the start of negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Tillerson said he looked forward to an open and candid discussion, and that Washington’s lines of communication with Moscow would always remain open.
