Turkey's Halkbank says all transactions in full compliance with international regulations

ISTANBUL, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Turkish state-owned lender Halkbank said on Thursday all its transactions have fully complied with national and international regulations, after a former head of the bank was charged with evading U.S. sanctions against Iran.

“It would appear there is news about our bank and some of its former managers which misleads the public and investors,” Halkbank said in a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange.

U.S. prosecutors have also charged a former Turkish economy minister with conspiring to evade U.S. sanctions against Iran, widening an investigation that has fuelled tension between Washington and Ankara. (Writing by Daren Butler; Editing by Dominic Evans)
