GENEVA, May 16 (Reuters) - Venezuela’s ambassador to the United Nations said on Thursday that talks were being held in Norway between Venezuela’s government and the “democratic part” of the opposition but not those who were backed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“There is an opposition that can be classified as democratic but there’s another that are simply puppets of the U.S. empire,” Jorge Valero told reporters, without giving any details. “I can confirm that there are dialogues but I cannot go into details.”
Valero called Trump a “war criminal”. (Reporting by Tom Miles Editing by Gareth Jones)
