Australia's Vocus ends takeover talks with KKR, Affinity

Aug 21 (Reuters) - Australian telecoms company Vocus Group Ltd said on Monday that takeover discussions with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co and Affinity Equity Partners had ended, after the private equity players had each lodged A$2.2 billion bids for the telco.

Vocus said the private equity firms advised the company they were unable to meet the board’s terms.

“Accordingly, all discussions have now ceased,” Vocus said in a statement.

The firms had each offered A$3.50-per-share for the country’s No.4 internet company. ($1 = 1.2612 Australian dollars) (Reporting by Christina Martin in Bengaluru; Editing by Richard Pullin)
