German cartel authorities investigate Austria's Voestalpine

VIENNA, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Austrian specialty steelmaker Voestalpine said the German federal cartel office raided its office in Linz on Tuesday as part of its investigations into steel producers.

“The reason for the inspection is the suspicion of anti-competitive practices in the market for heavy plates,” the company said, adding that it took the allegations seriously and was supporting the authorities in their work.

No further information could currently be provided, Voestalpine said. (Reporting by Kirsti Knolle; editing by David Clarke)
