Yemen prisoner swap under way, ICRC tells Reuters

GENEVA/SANAA, Oct 15 (Reuters) - The largest-ever prisoner exchange in Yemen’s five-year conflict was under way on Thursday, with more than 1,000 men expected to be freed in a complex operation, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said.

Reuters witnesses said planes took off from both Sanaa airport and from Sayoun airport near the central city of Marib. (Reporting by Stephanie Nebehay in Geneva and Aziz El Eyaakoubi in Dubai; editing by Jon Boyle)
