Telecom Egypt Signs Agreement With Vodafone Egypt On Transmission, Infrastructure, Dividend

Feb 19 (Reuters) - TELECOM EGYPT ::SIGNS TEN YEAR TRANSMISSION AND INFRASTRUCTURE AGREEMENTS WITH VODAFONE EGYPT FOR A TOTAL VALUE OF EGP 10.85 BILLION.SAYS TRANSMISSION AGREEMENT COVERS VODAFONE EGYPT’S CURRENT AND FUTURE REQUIREMENTS FOR DOMESTIC TRANSMISSION SERVICES FOR BOTH FIXED AND MOBILE.SAYS INFRASTRUCTURE AGREEMENT REPRESENTS A NEW COOPERATION BETWEEN TWO COMPANIES, WHERE TELECOM EGYPT WILL AVAIL FIBER BACKHAULING CAPACITY TO VODAFONE EGYPT’S NETWORK.VODAFONE EGYPT HAS PROPOSED A DIVIDEND OF EGP 12.2 BILLION OF WHICH TELECOM EGYPT’S SHARE IS EQUIVALENT OF EGP 5.5 BILLION.DIVIDENDS WILL BE PAID ON TWO TRANCHES, THE FIRST OF WHICH AMOUNTS TO EGP 4.8 BILLION AND WILL BE PAID IN MARCH 2019 WITH THE REMAINDER IN JUNE 2020.
