Mexico's Alfa reports jump in first quarter profit to 3.5 bln pesos

MEXICO CITY, April 16 Mexican conglomerate Alfa on Thursday reported 3.5 billion pesos ($146 million) in net profit in the first quarter this year, about three times as much as its net profit the same quarter a year earlier of 1.3 billion pesos.
