Biographies

Name Description

Ioannis Kostopoulos

Mr. Ioannis S. (Yannis) Kostopoulos has served as Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since June 2014. Prior to this, Kostopoulos was Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Company from February 23, 2005 until May 2014. He joined the Commercial Credit Bank (as Alpha Bank was then called) in 1963. He served as Managing Director and General Manager of the Bank from 1973 and was Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager from 1984 to 1996. From 1996 to 2005 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Alpha Bank. He holds a BSc in Naval Architecture from King’s College, University of Durham, England.

Vasileios Rapanos

Mr. Vasileios Th. Rapanos has served as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since May 2014. Rapanos is Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Athens and he has been an Ordinary Member of the Academy of Athens since 2016. He studied Business Administration (Bachelors) at the Athens University of Economics and Business (1975) and holds a Master’s in Economics from Lakehead University, Canada (1977) and a PhD in Economics from Queen’s University, Canada. He was Deputy Governor and Governor of the Mortgage Bank (1995-1998), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (1998-2000), Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (2000-2004), and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Bank Association (2009-2012).

Vassilios Psaltis

Mr. Vassilios E. Psaltis has served as Chief Executive Officer, Executive Member of the Board of Directors of ALPHA BANK S.A. since January 2019. He served as Chief Financial Officer, General Manager, Executive Member of the Board of Directors of the Company between November 2018 and January 2019. He served as Chief Financial Officer, General Manager of the Company between March 1, 2012 and November 2018. He holds an MBA and a PHD from Universitaet St. Gallen, Switzerland, with a specialization in Banking and Finance. He worked as Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Emporiki Bank and at ABN AMRO Bank’s Financial Institutions Group in London. He joined the Bank in 2007 and he was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2010 and General Manager in 2012.

Spyros Filaretos

Mr. Spyros N. Filaretos has served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since March 2017. Filaretos was Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director, General Manager of the Company between October 2009 and March 2017. He was Executive Director, General Manager of the Company between February 23, 2005 and 2009. He was Member of the Management Board, Executive General Manager of the Company between 1997 and February 23, 2005. He studied Economics at the University of Manchester and at the University of Sussex. He joined the Bank in 1985.

Georgios Aronis

Mr. Georgios K. Aronis has served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Retail and Wholesale Banking Business Units; Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since March 2017. Georgios studied Economics and holds an MBA, major in Finance, from ALBA Graduate Business School. He has worked for multinational banks for 15 years, mostly at ABN AMRO BANK in Greece and abroad. He joined Alpha Bank in 2004 as Retail Banking Manager. On May 17, 2006, he was appointed Executive General Manager, on October 31, 2008 General Manager and in March 2017 Deputy CEO, Retail, Wholesale Banking and International Network. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since March 22, 2011, when he was appointed General Manager, Executive Member of the Board of Directors.

Artemios Theodoridis

Mr. Artemios Ch. Theodoridis has served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Non-Performing Loans and Treasury Management; Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since March 2017. Theodoridis studied Economics and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He joined the Bank as Executive General Manager in 2002. On February 23, 2005 he was appointed Executive Member of the Board of Directors, General Manager and in March 2017 Deputy CEO, Non-Performing Loans and Treasury Management. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since February 23, 2005.

Lazaros Papagaryfallou

Mr. Lazaros A. Papagaryfallou has served as Chief Financial Officer and General Manager at Alpha Bank S.A. since January 2, 2019. He was Executive General Manager at the Company from July 1, 2013. Papagaryfallou studied Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business (former Athens School of Economics and Business) and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Wales, Cardiff Business School. He started his career in multinational banks (Citibank and ABN AMRO) and he joined Alpha Bank in 1998, having served as Manager of the Corporate Development, International Network and Strategic Planning Divisions. On 1.7.2013 he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Spyridon Andronikakis

Mr. Spyridon A. Andronikakis has served as Chief Risk Officer, General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since March 1, 2012. Andronikakis holds a BA in Economics and Statistics from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and an MBA in Financial Management and Banking from the University of Minnesota, U.S.A. He has worked in the Corporate Banking Units of Greek and multinational banks since 1985. He joined Alpha Bank in 1998. He was Corporate Banking Manager from 2004 to 2007. In 2007 he was appointed Chief Credit Officer and in 2012 General Manager and Chief Risk Officer.

Nikolaos Salakas

Mr. Nikolaos V. (Nikos) Salakas has served as General Manager – Chief Legal and Governance Officer of ALPHA BANK S.A. since March 1, 2019. He studied Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a postgraduate degree (LL.M. in International Business Law) from the University College London. He is joining the Bank after having worked for Koutalidis Law Firm, where he was leading the Banking and Finance Department as of 2010. He has more than 20 years of experience in domestic and international Banking, Financing, Restructuring and Securities transactions and he is ranked amongst the leading Greek lawyers by the IFLR, Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. He has supported Alpha Bank in regulatory, M&A, strategic and finance transactions since 1999.

Pinelopi Konidari

Ms. Pinelopi E. Konidari has served as Executive General Manager of Human Resources and Training of Alpha Bank S.A. since July 1, 2013. Konidari joined the Bank's Human Resources sector in 1978. In 2005 she was appointed Human Resources Manager and in 2010 Group Human Resources Manager. On 1.7.2013 she was appointed Executive General Manager of Human Resources, Training and Organization of the Bank.

Athanasios Athanasopoulos

Mr. Athanasios I. Athanasopoulos has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since April 1, 2016. Athanasopoulos studied Business Administration at Athens University of Economics and Business and holds MScs in Banking and Economics from the University of Reading and the London School of Economics. He is a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW). He has worked at the London office of KPMG and at the Audit and Risk Review Department of Mellon Financial Corporation (currently, BoNY Mellon). He joined Alpha Bank in 2006, and worked at Organization, Credit and Internal Audit Divisions. On 1.10.2014, he became the Manager of the Internal Audit Division and on 1.4.2016 he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Theodoros Athanassopoulos

Mr. Theodoros I. Athanassopoulos has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since November 5, 2014. Athanassopoulos holds a Bachelor Degree and an MSc in Banking and Financial Management from the University of Piraeus. He started his career in Alpha Bank in 2000 and worked in the Credit, Corporate Banking and Non-Performing Loans Divisions. In 2011 he was appointed Non-Performing Loans-Wholesale Manager and on 5.11.2014 Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Damianos Charalampidis

Mr. Damianos I. Charalampidis serves as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. Charalampidis holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University as well as an MSc in Digital Electronics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). He joined Alpha Bank in November 2016 as Executive General Manager. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Telecommunications and particularly in the area of Commercial Operations, serving as a c-level Executive at all 3 mobile operators in Greece. More specifically, from 1998 until 2005 he worked at Cosmote as a Product and Services Manager and then he assumed the General Management of the sector. From 2005 – 2009 he joined WIND Hellas as Chief Commercial Officer, while later he assumed the responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer. During 2009 until 2012 he was the Chief Operating Officer at Vodafone Hellas. In 2012 he was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer at National Bank of Greece and a Member of the Executive Committee of the bank. Throughout his career Mr. Charalampidis served as a BoD member in various companies such as: OTENET (ISP Provider), TELLAS S.A. (Fixed Line Operator), ZELITRON (IoT Internet of Things), Ethnodata (IT service provider), CosmoONE (B2B e-Auction service provider).He is also a member of IET (Institute of Electrical and Technical Engineers) and he has served as a chairman of its Greek section for several years.

Nicholas Chryssanthopoulos

Mr. Nicholas R. Chryssanthopoulos has served as Executive General Manager of ALPHA BANK S.A. since January 14, 2019. He holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. He has worked in the Alpha Bank Group since 2000 in the areas of Investment Banking, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning, and has also served as Advisor to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance on banking matters. From 2016 to 2019, he served as a Senior Manager in Alpha Bank’s Strategic Planning Unit, in charge of Group M&A and business planning. On 14.1.2019 he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Konstantinos Dorkofikis

Mr. Konstantinos R. Dorkofikis has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since June 2013. Dorkofikis holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, as well as an MSc in Shipping Finance from City University London. He joined Alpha Bank in 1999. He was Corporate Banking Manager from 2007 until June 2013, when he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Ioannis Emiris

Mr. Ioannis M. Emiris has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since November 5, 2014. Emiris studied Economics and Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business (former Athens School of Economics and Business) and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School of Columbia University, as well as a US Certified Public Accounting degree. He started his career as a certified public accountant in PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York. From 1991 to 2012 he worked for the Alpha Bank Group, initially as an Investment Banker in Alpha Finance and from 2004 as Head of the Investment Banking and Project Finance Division of Alpha Bank. From 2012 to 2014, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF). On 5.11.2014, he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Efstathios Kakogiannis

Mr. Efstathios A. Kakogiannis has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since July 1, 2013. Kakogiannis holds a BA in Physics and an MSc in Information Technology. He joined the Bank in 1977. In 2003 he was appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO). From 2003 until 2005 he was Chief Executive Officer of "Delta Singular A.E." and from 2005 until 2007 Chief Executive Officer of "Alpha Insurance Company A.E.". In 2009 he was appointed Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Alpha Bank Group. On 1.7.2013 he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank. He is also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of "ASTAKOS NAVAL INDUSTRIAL AREA (NAVIPE)" and Chairman of "Alpha Supporting Services S.A.".

Evangelos Kavvalos

Mr. Evangelos I. Kavvalos has served as Executive General Manager for Non-Performing Loans - Retail Banking of Alpha Bank S.A. since July 9, 2018. He studied Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens University and holds a MBA in International Business and Corporate Finance and Investments from Adelphi University, N. York, U.S.A. He has 35 years of experience in the field of Retail Small Business Banking. He started his career in N.Y.M. Financial Corporation, New York, U.S.A and held Director Positions in Housing/Mortgage companies in U.S.A. In 1991 he started his banking career in Greece in the National Housing Bank SA as Director – Advisor to the Management and in its subsidiary company Mortgage SA as Chief Executive Officer, in Interbank SA as Deputy Head of Mortgage Lending Unit, in Euromerchant Bank SA as Head of Mortgage Lending Unit, in EFG Eurobank Ergasias as General Manager, Small Business Banking, Member of Group Executive Committee, in Geniki Bank SA as Chief Operating Officer, Member of the Executive Committee and in Piraeus Bank as General Manager, RBU Strategy & Retail/SBL Recovery. Throughout his career he served as a Member of Executive Committees in Insurance and Financial Companies in Greece and Banks Abroad. He joined Alpha Bank in September 2017 as Advisor to the Management on Non-Performing Loans area and then as Senior Manager of NPL Business Planning Division. On 9.7.2018 he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank for Non-Performing Loans - Retail Banking.

Georgios Michalopoulos

Mr. Georgios V. Michalopoulos has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since May 4, 2016. Michalopoulos studied Mathematics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a MBA in Business Administration and Finance from City University Business School. He joined Alpha Bank in 1994 and worked in the Treasury functions in Athens and London. He served as Group Treasurer and Manager of the Planning and Trading and the Financial Markets Divisions. On 4.5.2016 he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Sergiu Oprescu

Mr. Sergiu Bogdan A. Oprescu has served as General Manager of International Network of ALPHA BANK S.A. since February 11, 2019. He holds a MEng Graduate degree with concentration in Avionics from the Aeronautical Faculty, Universitatea Politehnica Bucuresti. He acquired a postgraduate degree in Banking from the University of Colorado and followed multiple executive program studies at Harvard Business School, Stanford and London Business School. He joined Alpha Bank Romania in 1994 and held several senior positions before he was appointed Executive President in 2007. He served as Chairman of the Bucharest Stock Exchange from 2000 to 2006 and is currently President of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Association of Banks.

Isidoros Passas

Mr. Isidoros S. Passas has served as Executive General Manager of Alpha Bank S.A. since January 4, 2016. Passas holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, an MBA from at the City University Business School and has attended the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at INSEAD. He started his career in Procter & Gamble and held Director Positions in Marketing and Sales functions of multinational consumer goods companies. In 2000, he started his banking career in Eurobank. He had been Deputy General Manager of Retail Banking Network for several years. In 2013, he worked as a Senior Advisor to the CEO for retail marketing distribution in Hellenic Petroleum. He joined Alpha Bank in 2014. He held the positions of Manager of Deposit and Investment Products and Greek Branch Network Division. He is Vice President at the Board of Directors of AlphaLife Insurance Company S.A. and holds the position of Counselor at the Board of Directors of Alpha Finance. On 4.1.2016, he was appointed Executive General Manager of the Bank.

Demetrios Mantzounis

Mr. Demetrios P. Mantzounis has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of ALPHA BANK S.A. since January 2019. He served as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Executive Member of the Board of Directors of the Company between February 23, 2005 and January 2019. Demetrios studied Political Sciences at Universite de Provence Aix Marseille. He served as Member of the Management Board, General Manager of the Company between 2002 and February 23, 2005. He joined the Bank in 1973 and he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since 1995. In 2002 he was appointed General Manager and he has been the Managing Director since 2005.

Johannes Umbgrove

Mr. Johannes Herman Frederik G. Umbgrove has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since April 2018. He holds an LL.M. in Trade Law (1985) from Universiteit Leiden and an MBA from INSEAD (The Business School for the World), Fontainebleau (1991). He worked at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. (1986-2008), wherein he held various senior management positions throughout his career. He served as Chief Credit Officer CEEMEA of the Global Markets Division at The Royal Bank of Scotland group (2008-2010) and as Chief Risk Officer and member of the Management Board at Amsterdam Trade Bank N.V. (2010-2013). From 2011 until 2013 he was Group Risk Officer at Alfa Bank Group Holding. As of 2014 he has been a Risk Advisor at Sparrenwoude B.V. and as of 2018 he has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Demir Halk Bank (Nederland) N.V. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank, representing the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, since April 2018. He is Member of the Audit Committee, Member of the Risk Management Committee, Member of the Remuneration Committee, and Member of the Corporate Governance and Nominations Committee of the Company.

Efthymios Vidalis

Mr. Efthymios O. Vidalis has served as Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since May 29, 2014. Vidalis holds a BA in Government from Harvard University and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration of Harvard University. He worked at Owens Corning (1981-1998), where he served as President of the Global Composites and Insulation Business Units. Furthermore, he was Chief Operating Officer (1998-2001) and Chief Executive Officer (2001-2011) of the S&B Industrial Minerals Group, where he served on the Board of Directors for 15 years. He is an executive member of the Board of Directors of the TITAN Group. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) from 2006 to 2016 as well as founder and Chairman of the SEV Business Council for Sustainable Development from 2008 to 2016. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since May 2014. He is Member of the Audit Committee, Member of the Remuneration Committee, and Member of the Corporate Governance and Nominations Committee of the Company.

Jean Cheval

Mr. Jean L. Cheval has served as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since June 2018. Cheval studied Engineering at Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in Paris, while he holds a DES (Diplome d’Etudes Specialisees) in Economics (1974) from the University of Paris. After starting his career at BIPE (Bureau d’Information et de Previsions Economiques), he served in the French public sector (1978-1983) and then worked at BANQUE INDOSUEZ-CREDIT AGRICOLE INDOSUEZ (1983-2001), wherein he held various senior management positions. He served as CEO and then as Chairman of the Banque Audi France (2002-2005), while he was Head of France at the Bank of Scotland (2005-2009). As of 2009 he has been working at Natixis in various senior management positions. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of HIME-SAUR, France and of EFG-Hermes, Egypt. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since June 2018. He is Member of the Audit Committee, Member of the Remuneration Committee, and Member of the Corporate Governance and Nominations Committee of the Company.

Carolyn Dittmeier

Ms. Carolyn G. Dittmeier has served as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since January 2017. Carolyn holds a BSc in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1978). She is a statutory auditor, a certified public accountant, a certified internal auditor and a certified risk management assurance professional. She focused her career on the auditing sector, taking on the role of Chief Internal Audit Executive of the Poste Italiane Group between 2002 and 2014. Previously, she had gained professional experience with the auditing firm KPMG and the Montedison Group as both financial controller and later Head of Internal Audit. She has carried out various professional and academic activities focusing on risk and control governance. She was Vice Chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) from 2013 to 2014 (director since 2007); Chair of the European Confederation of Institutes of Internal Auditing-ECIIA (2011-2012) and of the Italian Association of Internal Auditors (2004-2010). She is currently President of the Statutory Audit Committee of Assicurazioni Generali SpA, Independent Director and Chair of the Risk and Control Committee of Autogrill SpA, Independent Director and Chair of the Risk and Control Committee of Italmobiliare SpA and Member of the Audit Committee of Ferrero International S.A. She has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since January 2017. She is Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Member of the Risk Management Committee of the Company.

Richard Gildea

Mr. Richard R. Gildea has served as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since July 2016. Richard holds a BA in History from the University of Massachusetts (1974) and an MA in International Economics, European Affairs from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (1984). He served in JP Morgan Chase from 1986 until 2015 wherein he held various senior management positions throughout his career. He was Emerging Markets Regional Manager for the Central and Eastern Europe Corporate Finance Group, London (1993-1997) and Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Restructuring, London (1997-2003), as well as Senior Credit Officer in EMEA Emerging Markets, London (2003-2007). From 2007 until 2015 he was Senior Credit Officer for JP Morgan’s Investment Bank Corporate Credit in EMEA Developed Markets, London and was appointed Senior Risk Representative to senior committees within the Investment Bank. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, Washington D.C., of the Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs), London and of the International Institute of Strategic Studies, London. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since July 2016. He is Member of the Risk Management Committee, and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of the Company.

Mr. Shahzad A. Shahbaz has served as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since May 29, 2014. Shahzad holds a BA in Economics from Oberlin College, Ohio, U.S.A. He has worked at various banks and investments firms, since 1981, including the Bank of America (1981-2006), from which he left as Regional Head (Corporate and Investment Banking, Continental Europe, Emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa). He served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NDB Investment Bank/Emirates NBD Investment Bank (2006-2008) and of QInvest (2008-2012). He is currently the Investment Advisor at Al Mirqab Holding Co. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since May 2014. He is Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Nominations Committee of the Company.

Jan Vanhevel

Mr. Jan A. Vanhevel has served as Non-Executive Independent Member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank S.A. since April 21, 2016. Vanhevel studied Law at Leuven University (LLB, 1971), Financial Management at Vlekho (Flemish School of Higher Education in Economics), Brussels (1978) and Advanced Management at INSEAD (The Business School for the World), Fontainebleau. He joined Kredietbank in 1971, which became KBC Bank and Insurance Holding Company in 1998. He acquired a Senior Management position in 1991 and joined the Executive Committee in 1996. In 2003 he was in charge of the non-Central European branches and subsidiaries while in 2005 he became responsible for the KBC subsidiaries in Central Europe and Russia. In 2009 he was appointed CEO and implemented the Restructuring Plan of the group until 2012 when he retired. From 2008 until 2011 he was President of the Federation belge du secteur financier (Belgian Financial Sector Federation) and a member of the Verbond van Belgische Ondernemingen (Federation of Enterprises in Belgium), while he has been the Secretary General of the Institut International d’Etudes Bancaires (International Institute of Banking Studies) since May 2013. He was also a member of the Liikanen Group on reforming the structure of the EU banking sector. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank since April 2016. He is Member of the Audit Committee, and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee of the Company.
